To Heart Girl SR Capsule figure

Last January 17 I was with my sister at the SM North EDSA to buy some stuff for my mom along with other things when we happen to pass by this small hobby shop that were selling several anime stuff like gashapons and PVC figures. I was looking through their items inside the display window and honestly, their prices are way too high in spite of giving discounts to some of their items. Though I’ve seen some good ones on display like figure sets of Shin Chan, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gundam and many more, I still opted to look for stuff that were affordable and easy on the wallet. I think it was a good 5 to 10 minutes that I’ve spent searching for my treasure until I noticed this cute schoolgirl figure placed on one corner of the display window and I immediately asked the saleslady for it.

In search of: 168’s toy shops in Divisoria

Last January 13, I made that one big step in making that decision to embark once again on that journey of a lifetime into the hustle and bustle of crowded streets and never-ending traffic that can be found only in Divisoria. The last time I went there was about 7 years ago, in 2003, when I bought my Playstation 2 at this gaming store called Gameline and it is located at the second floor (I think) of the Tutuban Mall. It took me 7 long years to finally make that decision and this time I’m not buying nor upgrading my gaming console to a Playstation 3, but instead I’ll be walking my way a little bit further away from the Tutuban Mall and into this other famous mall called 168 to find me some toy shops there and check out their goods.

The mystery of the unknown miniature bust figure

The Metrowalk in Pasig is known for being a hangout depot for dudes and dudettes of all ages, and what’s more, this place is popularly known for its DVDs being sold at the second floor. It was only recently that I discovered that aside from the DVD stalls there are some shops that were selling other stuff like RTW, bags, leather goods and a whole lot more. But with my constant wandering around the vicinity, I immediately stumbled upon several toy shops that were selling both brand new and loose items, and this one particular toy shop mainly sold literally a sea of gashapon figures (capsule toys), PVC toys and action figures… and majority of their stocks on sale are, well you’ve guessed it, loose items.

Pirates Raid (Sea Hunt) from Wange Toys

As a kid back in the 1980’s, I have seen so many trends in the world of toys unfold before my eyes… from action figures, the Rubik’s Cube to those first generation handheld games called Game & Watch (popularized by LCD games forerunner Nintendo) plus other thingamajigs that became so popular that kids like me then wished to have on their birthday or even writing to Santa asking and begging to have that toy for Christmas. But there was this one toy line that became a huge phenomenon across the globe that boys and girls alike were pestering their moms and dads to give them as soon as they hit the toy shelves… and the rest is history. I’m talking about that four-letter toy product that has become synonymous for assembling their miniature brick-like pieces together to form something… and you’ve guessed it right… who doesn’t know LEGO?

Onegai Teacher Kazami Mizuho figure

Onegai Teacher Kazami Mizuho figure

This particular PVC figure I guess was one of the best buys I ever got for my toy collection. Aside from purchasing it as a loose item, I got it at a very reasonable price. If my memory serves me right, I bought this roughly around two to three months ago and since it was only recently that I decided to regenerate my enthusiasm in filling my weblog with new posts and now I am starting to pick up my pace and gather some of the toys that I have photographed during my absence from blogging and here is one of them guys… It’s playful, daring and almost bordering to sweet ecchi-ness, my Onegai Teacher Kazami Mizuho figure.
